Expo Butterfly

Expo ‘74 marked its entrance gates with five large butterfly sculptures made from metal frames and fabric wings. One Expo butterfly still exists in the park, at the northwestern corner. It was restored in 2019, then restored and re-designed again after it was brought down by a windstorm in 2021. This butterfly marked the Lilac Gate.
